OB 1 Optical Brightener is a heat resistant, solvent soluble, chemically stable fluorescent whitener. OB 1 Optical Brightener provides brighter looking colors. OB 1 Optical Brightener is used to offset the yellowness of a polymer and to yield a whiter appearance.

OB 1 Optical Brightener are also used as a tracer in various applications and as an optical brightener in whitening of thermoplastic, polyvinyl chloride(PVC), polypropylene(PP), polyester fiber, paint and ink, etc.
When a small amount of OB 1 optical brightener is used, the incident UV radiation is absorbed and re-emitted in the visible blue-violet range, counteracting the yellowish tinge.
